| Filters
Filters are defined to perform simple
or complex queries on a system. The result of the filter
is a sorted list of issues with fields that match the
specified definition. These filters are extremely useful
for doing searches and comparisons. The resulting lists
can then be used for charts and reports, where they can
be summarized, ordered, and compared. Data can also be
exported after running a filter, for custom analysis.
The Filter page allows
any users to define and run a filter. Filters can be saved
and accessed from the Filter drop down
box at the top of the page. They can be saved on a per
user basis, or across the system.
Basic Examples:
- Issues assigned to [userid]
- will filter the list to only show issues assigned
to yourself.
- Open Issues - will filter the list
to show all issues in an Open state. Issues
that are Deferred, Ready for Retest,
Closed, or Rejected will not appear
in the list.
- More complex filters can be defined
using the Filter link, where they can
also be saved for future use. You can create a filters
which compare specific fields or do searches for subjects
or descriptions which contain specific strings.
- Selecting a filter should automatically
execute the filter. However, if javascript is disabled,
you will also need to click on the arrow to the right
of the list.
- Filters stay active until they
are explicitly cleared, by clicking on the Clear
Filter link.
