Mandatory Requirements

• Must have a minimum 2 years of IT experience, either with (a) at least 6 months being within the last 2 years working with the Java API of Verity K2 Enterprise OR, (b) with at least 6 months being within the last 2 years working with the Verity K2 Toolkit in a business application development environment (coding, designing and developing).
• Fluent in English (oral and written communication)

• Hands-on experience in:
• Java environment in a design or development role
• Server Side development in a Java environment that involves JDBC/ODBC, Java servlets or JSP
• Verity K2 Enterprise administrative functions
• J-Builder (solutions architecting)
• Development of large scale mission critical systems/ applications
• Scoring and weighting search results using Verity scoring algorithms in a query string
• Coding and developing of Enterprise Java Beans (EJB)
• Formal education in one of the following:
• University Degree, related to Computer Science or
• College Diploma, related to Computer Science or
• University Degree, other than Computer Science or
• College Diploma, other than Computer Science

• The Search Engine Developer will be responsible for the configuration, implementation and administration of Verity K2 and develop Query Processing using the Java API of the Verity K2 product.
• Tasks may include:
• Object-oriented design and enterprise level application development using web application servers in a Unix environment;
• Develop query algorithms for Verity K2 Soundex and thesaurus;
• Implement the spidering capability of Verity K2 and update data collections;
• Develop custom coding for text search engines;
• Work with Java, RDBMS, EJB, JDBC, ODBC JDBC Bridges;
